@ella0Bank Club Hack. I drew this today for fun :yay:
@courtney0I'm down to my final draft (before editing), and it's going really well! I'm so excited. I've changed the plot a little, but it's impacted it so much I have to change the title. π Very excited to finish so I can do the cover art!! :yay:
@courtney0I finished workshop #2!! Splatter Paint is hard in my opinion, but I love the end result! I also updated the Personal Website with a 'review'. This was really fun & cool because the faster you go, the bigger the circles get, and the slower you go, the smaller they get!!

@taylorylee0Planned a solo trip to Santa Barbara! I purposefully left some wiggle room in my schedule to be spontaneous. Went e-biking, bought ice cream, saw lots of art in museums, thrifting, people watching at the pier and beach, etc. Very tired but had a lot of fun
@taylorylee0I went to Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters and it was an amazing experience! The art paintings "come to life" and they tell the history behind each artist and painting. 10/10 recommend π¨
(I wasn't allowed to take photos during the performance, so I'll insert a photo I found from the internet. Photo courtesy of Jeff Minton for The New York Times)
@swlittle70I saw an art museum and it didn't make me sad
@ArcadeWise0Yay for art! I spent so long on this. Its all my favorite things
@cwi0Working on a hi-res terminal art Python lib. (it's NOT zoomed out!)
@Sarthak0Learned about and coded a Barnsley Fern in p5.js! Interesting to see how Math and Computer Science can create such nice pieces of art.
@lailahn0Yesterday, I was pretty tired, but today I got a lot of fun things done! I continued my digital humanities course and started out a data science one(not sure if ill continue) and I also ran through the splatter paint workshop! It's so pretty :ultrafastparrot:
@cwi0Do you like custom slack emoji? Do you like pixel art? Combine them with PixelArt (I couldn't think of a better name!). PixelArt converts any image into pixels, and then down samples the colors to only ones that have CSS color names. It then translates these pixels into emoji. (example image below). I would really recommend NOT using this in a large channel like #lounge because a bunch of emoji can really cause browsers to lag.
Here's how to use it: just type /art <URL to image> [width] [prefix] in any public channel. Width is 20 by default, don't do more than 50! The default prefix is p, so p_cyan is :p_cyan:. There is another prefix: balloon which looks like this: :balloon_cyan:. If you want other emoji sets uploaded I have a simple way to do it. Just message me and I'll upload a full set.
Code is open source at github.com/cole-wilson/pixelart. I still have a lot to do on this, so not all images may come out cleanly.
Try it out at #pixel!
