Today was the start of my Spring Break! I worked on questionnaires about all the Biology lab ๐Ÿงช experiments and topics I've seen on school! ๐Ÿฆ  ๐Ÿ”ฌ ๐ŸŒฑ Also today I got an answer about my first GitHub Issue, :merge: but it was that GitHub don't accept pull requests for translated repos on their docs so looks like they won't solve the typo I found! ยฏ\(ใƒ„)/ยฏ Today I also finished a lot better design of my GitHub Readme, I know I get to work on that a lot but it looks way better now, and it got a MIT License :mit: so people can use the design too! It uses many cool open source tools! :quad_parrot: I also gave stars โญ to cool repos and added them to the new lists on beta, it's an awesome feature! Today I also worked again on the Splatter Paint workshop, and understood a lot more JavaScipt functions :javascript: :blobninja: ! Lastly I started reading the John Green book I mentioned yesterday! It's a fun read so far! ๐Ÿ“•

Besides my journey of today ๐ŸšŒ ๐Ÿ›ฌ ๐ŸŒด I also opened my first ever GitHub :github: Issue on the GitHub Docs Repo! :quad_parrot: There's a typo on the Spanish Translation of a docs page, and because they don't allow yet pull requests :pullrequest: for translations I opened an issue so it can get check and fix! I hope everything goes alright and it gets corrected, which would be awesome because that would be too my first successful code contribution outside of Hack Club, on which I look forward as well to keep helping more on the future! :hack-club: :merge:

Today I continued working on my website with @caleb's help! :w00w00: I made a navigation bar with CSS :css: and flexbox and continued writing the content! I also had an awesome talk with @JackyZhao about Digital gardens and other kind of tools! ๐Ÿชด Lastly, tomorrow I have an Organic Chemistry exam about functional groups! ๐Ÿงช Here's an image of some gigant Selenite crystals on Naica's Cave on Mรฉxico. :mexicoparrot: Would be cool to work on a Geology Project! ๐Ÿชจ

Today I had an awesome school presentation on Biomedicine Engineering! ๐Ÿงช It was a very cool event, there were 3D Printers, robots ๐Ÿค– that use Python :python: , prosthesis models that use biological electrical ๐Ÿ”Œ signals to work and many more things! I could take a few pictures that I'll try to updated and share this next days. I also had Chemistry โš—๏ธ lab where we did a lot of cool experiments on Amines! And because the biomedicine talks and presentations ended a bit late, I went walking back to my home, here's some very nice pictures of my city! ๐ŸŒ† ๐Ÿ™๏ธ

Fourth and last Scrapbook Post of the day! 4๏ธโƒฃ ๐ŸŽ‰ Today I had a very interesting talk with @caleb! He helped me to get a better understanding on how some coding things can be achieved, like how to add scroll to a website, how to add different background colors on the same page, about viewport height vh relative unit and more awesome things! We used CodePen, which it's a very awesome and useful app! :codepen:

Third 3๏ธโƒฃ Update of the day ๐ŸŽ‰! I will be using club-scraps to share a #scrapbook link without posting on the Slack :slack: ! I also did a better design on the :toitle: Procedural Art Workshop! And designed this awesome ๐Ÿ™ :tw_octopus: Octopus -Turtle ๐Ÿข :tw_turtle: emoji based on Googleโ€™s :google: stickers! Today's Twosday! A very interesting palindromic number day, also today I learned more on what's an API and how does it works! Which is a very useful CS topic, in addition to this, I am looking into a remote desktop app to access my mac on other devices, this will help me when I have to code on something remotely! So I might work as well with this Backend Course by freeCodeCamp to learn more on this aspect of Web Development but I want to be better at Front End before moving to something else! :freecodecamp-logo:

I hopefully won't be coding or active much for the next 8 days, because I'm going away over break. Honestly don't mind much lmao, I need to chill (I will miss my green square streak) gonna to learn how to dive and stuff, it's going to be awesome. Also, planning on messing around with neural nets and stuff. Sadly won't get much of a chance to try out my logic gates. Also there's an image of all the items I've added to my simulator in the last 2 weeks, this is the longest i've coded consecutively, and the most fun I've ever had doing so far more importantly added the long needed pause button to my sim

woo scrapbook time alr! Working on a few projects โ€ข Remaking my trashy portfolio, with less everything (I swear to fucking god why can't scroll snap work) โ€ข messing around with circuits. Ordered a bunch of this little chips (image attached), and combined with XOR I'm hoping to make a simple adder. (Not as impressive when there are people on this slack designing whole CPUs) โ€ข Messing around with Noita-style falling sand sim, and resisting the urge to try that game โ€ข The most retarded Linux distro idea Also, Vitalik AMA was awesome! Below I've attached some of the interesting comments from the Vitalik AMA youtube live stream (hmm)

added hp instead of instadeath, damage labels, an alternative control scheme that lets you play with one hand instead of using the mouse (it's what the red cursor that temporarily appears is for), lots of tweaks to the AI, etc. next up, for feature parity ... bow & arrow? then inventory UI and quests? wow, this is speeding along hehe shout out to @ella for making such an awesome font, Wack Club Sans, which I will definitely use in all of my projects henceforth hehe

Today I did a lot of homework and studied for my biology final exam, so there isn't anything about programming today, instead here's an awesome wallpaper a Hack Club friend shared today, it's a Gruvbox color scheme variant of the wallpaper I am using on my Macbook setup! For tomorrow, I hope to be able to continue working either on my website or in another of the club's workshops.

Today I'm going to be sharing all the progress I've made so far with my workshops, during this last days I have been making progress on them, step by step, developing more skills on HTML, CSS and JavaScript everyday I coded on them. It's not the best, but it's an awesome progress in my coding journey. My own personal website and portfolio is still in dev, and there's nothing to share about it yet because I still have to figure out the total tools I will use on it, so today's workshops are Orpheus Hack Club Website which needs some improvement and Splatter Paint. Also, my other project about GitHub that I was also talking about in my scrapbook is finally setting up an organization for my Science Club and Hack Club and redesigning my high school website which will be a great project to test my abilities! And finally, today I started researching some Raycast extensions, so most likely I won't see my apps dock that often.

I had planned for today to draw my Dino for Hack Club GitHub, but instead of this, I worked on my Digital Garden Project and started learning different ways to index my Obsidian vault with notes into a garden database, also I'm almost ready to ship the fist version of my Personal Website, and most likely I will be hosting it with the help of Repl.it where I'm also hosting my workshop projects, and then move on to better alternatives with improved versions. In other things, I forgot to mention some days ago than my high school is finally at the Hack Club map and I'm happy to be a club leader and get to work at my club and create awesome things!

My github readme stat can do this. Choose from a wide range of themes and give 5 repos. It will analyze them and generate a link of the most used tech and tooling and simply put that in readme. It prevents your readme to be bloated by adding technology icons/badges on your own. github.com/Borrus-sudo/awesome-stack (p.s. it will take me some time to upload image in readme cause github rate limited me. For the last couple of weeks, I have been working on p5commander when I had a bit of free time. Now it is finally fully useable! p5commander is a command-line tool to manage and display your p5.js sketches easily. I used Deno :deno: so I could use typescript and more up-to-date javascript features that Node still doesn't include by default. All you need to do is clone the repo and install it using the command in the README to get started! If you find any bugs or have any suggestions, please let me know. p5commander is my first actual public/open source project that I got to a working state, so I probably made some mistakes. <https://github.com/SquarePear/p5commander>

today i presented.. the *CLIMATATOR*! itโ€™s a 4D interactive media experience / climate change simulator that showcases the effects of climate change to a younger audience. you enter the cabinet, put an AR headset on, watch a fictional weather report from 2050, then you begin to feel the heat of a heatwave ๐Ÿ”ฅ (thereโ€™s a strong heater inside), then you going on a bumpy ride (haptic motors) in a fire truck fighting wildfires :firefighter: (itโ€™s still boiling from the heater and it intentionally smells of burning) and to end of your experience a cyclone with winds (a big fan) and shaking (haptic motors) ๐ŸŒ€ + itโ€™s got sound effects and a nice video (this is my myp personal project, goal was to create an engaging way of learning about climate change) the wooden structure was put together with a lot of drilling and with the use of recycled materials to the extent possible. i learnt a lot about woodworking as this was my first ever real woodworking project. *this is biggest project ever, itโ€™s taken me since August to build this all outโ€ฆ..* and iโ€™m really proud of the final product. uses a mix of Raspberry Pi Python, Arduino, Next.js & Node.js to all work. the AR headset is powered by Holocron (www.npmjs.com/package/@sampoder/holocron) more is at: climatator.co/de :partyparrot:

Hello! Today I am happy to announce that I am releasing Sailboat (github.com/cole-wilson/sailboat) for the first time!ย โ›ตย Sailboat is a Python developerโ€™s best friend. Itโ€™s a Python build tool that can do anything you need it to! It supports a countless number of plugins โ€” you can even make your own. Sailboat is made for anyone, whether you are a beginner on your very first project, or a senior software engineer with years of experience. Letโ€™s say that that you have created a basic game, Guess My Number, and you want to send it to all of your friends. There are a lot of different ways you can do this, but using Sailboat is the easiest. All you have to do is type three commands:ย sail quickstart,ย sail build, andย sail release, and you can have a Homebrew file, a pip installable package, and a PyInstaller desktop app in less than 5 minutes. So easy!ย :python: You can check it out atย github.com/cole-wilson/sailboatย andย sailboat.colewilson.xyz Please let me know what what you think, and if you find any bugs let me know, or submit an issue!

This Christmas I got aย Jedi Challenges AR Headset from Santaย (thanks Santa!). I really like the game, but I wanted to be able to put custom applications on to it! So I made Holocron :jediparrot: which is a React component that makes doing so super duper easy. It helps you size the window correctly and position the screen etc. It was my first time making a React component and I found the publishing quite difficult but I worked it out well: www.npmjs.com/package/@sampoder/holocron I then built a demo app that shows the status of your Vercel deployments on your headset. It uses SWR and react-reveal to make it feel buttery smooth! I also built one that implements the Slack events component on the Hack Club Website (here) on to it (sadly I ran out of time to put this in the demo vid but there are pics attached! Here's the GitHub project for the package: github.com/sampoder/holocron. And here's the demo video which I submitted to MLH's weekly hackathon...... and guess what?? Somehow, I won Best Overall Hardware Hack so I now get a free kit from ironically DigiKey (you still owe me money, no escaping) but my react component won best hardware hack lol!

Helloooo Hack Clubbers! Itโ€™s ya boi rice back at it again with another HN ship :hn: :parrot:! Before I lay out the new changes, I just wanted to thank the wonderful @caleb for testing out the bot authentication system yesterday (the UNO bot looks great), and @khushraj.rathod for volunteering to build out the exchange systemโ€”forex is coming to Hack Club, everyone :parrot_love:! Anyways, letโ€™s get back to day 4 of my personal lil shipathon: changes to @undefined and the HN API! The Teller now has one awesome new command for validating payments (/pay was there before, but Iโ€™ve added some new messages and interactivity with it), and a super great new dashboardโ€”feel free to head over to Home on @undefinedโ€™s profile page to take a look. The HN GraphQL API now supports advanced pagination and sorting! You can now query for as many transactions as you want, iterate through them, skip through tests, and even order by different fields! For instance, to grab the 5 people with the most HN and two of their largest payments, you can do something like:
query Users {
  users(options:{
    sort:{
      field:"balance",
      order:"DESC"
    },
    take:5
  }) {
    id
    balance
  	outgoingTransactions(options:{
      sort:{
        order:"DESC",
        field:"balance"
      },
      take:2
    }) {
      id
      balance
      from {
        id
      }

built a fun game! itโ€™s called dance-x-factor :dancing-dino: you scan the qr code (this is intended for tv screens around my school), it then starts the dancing, a tensorflow.js model (made using teachable) will then monitor your performance, then the x-factor judges (or what ever you call it i feel like there are 10 of the same shows) will give you the golden buzzer or the big red buzzer based on what the model felt itโ€™s not at all accurate but itโ€™s fun! source: github.com/sampoder/dance-x-factor try: dance1.innovweek.co (note: this is designed to only be used by one client so if multiple people use it ๐Ÿ’ฅ ) this was a fun thing to make, tho it contained me dancing in a public library very quietly to train an ml modelโ€ฆ have fun!! and ignore my 1am dancing

built a live drawing activity! itโ€™s a live activity for events where attendees write basic commands to draw shapes on a large screen, itโ€™s intended for absolute beginners (going to use at a school assembly in feb) The attendees enter a terminal-like interface where they write commands inspired by p5.js, these are then checked and sent to the webpage atย /liveย using Socket.io which then runs them on the p5.js canvas. Try the attendee view:ย draw-innov-week.sampoder.comย And the main screen view:ย draw-innov-week.sampoder.com/live source @ github.com/sampoder/live-draw enjoy!

i worked out how to gain access to the image feeds of major traffic cameras around the island and built a dashboard for snooping around looking at each one: sg-traffic.now.shโ€ฆ.. these images are cool to watch over time, I might make something tomorrow for generating time-lapses from them :D source @ github.com/sampoder/traffic-monitor โ€ฆ. I used next.js, who would have guessed?

Today/yesterday I release my first installable python app: nought. It organizes all of your files in custom ways that you define. For example, sort all your screenshots into folders by month. It includes powerful options and is super customizable. If you have any questions/find any bugs. Please submit an issue or PR! github.com/cole-wilson/nought

as couch camp drew to a close, and our scoring manager fell to sleep way too early.... we found ourselves with scores scattered across 22 separate JSON files.... oh dear making the closing slides would be a pain but i did not want for the not so techy people to go through any pain... so i stayed up very late last night and built certs.couch.camp/results that went through and linked together all the JSON files to output the critical results needed. it ended up saving hours for my friends today and i'm very happy about that. i'm quite proud of the hacky js stuff i wrote whilst half-ish asleep lol and then today i built on top of that system to make certificate websites for each scholar... it involved even more linking of JSON files, using square numbers to make it challenging for scholars to find others urls and a whole load of JS to make the award names. all together it looks like certs.couch.camp/71407A, people have to screenshot to save it which i guess is alright its all a big hack, here's the source code for: github.com/sampoder/couch-camp-certs im so proud of this massive hack i continue to fall in love with Next.js

missed out on getting a fancy domain for your scrapbook? wish you had more custom domains? well your in luck today! i have create a quick and easy tool that creates a vercel project which acts as a proxy for your scrapbook profile allowing you to set a custom domain. so how to do it? 1. head to hack.af/scrapbook-domain. follow the steps provided. 2. once youโ€™ve deployed the project you will see a screen saying Congratulations!, wait a couple of seconds and youโ€™ll be redirected to the domains page. 3. Add the domain youโ€™d like using Vercelโ€™s built in instructions 4. Hoorah! Youโ€™ve done it! the setup for this wild midnight project is at: github.com/sampoder/scrapbook-redirect go crazy with your domains!

Iโ€™m (almost too) excited to ship Frame ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ, our SOM project weโ€™ve completed. ๐Ÿฆ‘ What is it? Previously named Smart Album Cover Display, Frame, which sits on your wall, displays the music youโ€™re listening to. It either uses the Spotify API or detects the music youโ€™re listening to with microphones. ๐Ÿณ Itโ€™s been a good summer! With all the support from Hack Club we were able to complete this, and I am currently working on a Flutter App to configure settings (currently itโ€™s a react site). ๐Ÿ Whatโ€™s the purpose? We see it as art. I truly spend hours each day just looking at it (the beauty is not apparent in the photos). Music truly is a beautiful thing. ๐Ÿ€ Want to make your own? Weโ€™re working on a hardware guide. The code is, of course, open source. Contact us with questions. We couldnโ€™t have done this without Hack Club ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐Ÿ’“ p.s. here is Blonde by Frank Ocean, KIDS SEE GHOSTS by KIDS SEE GHOSTS, Yellow Submarine by The Beatles and Nothing Was The Same by Drake. Weโ€™ve also implemented a clock when paused (with custom colors ๐ŸŽจ) and auto-brightness with a light sensor.

Built something that I'm really proud of, part of me learning Next.js and being insanely bored in class (common topic in parent teachers, Sam looks very bored and needs to stop "multitasking"). Introducing state-of-democracy.vercel.app! Displays the date from the Economist Intelligence Unit's democracy index in a nicer more human way, i hope you enjoy :D each country has their own page as well, plus there are categories It's on GitHub at: github.com/sampoder/democracy :D

It's Arts Week next week at school and it'll be a lot different to normal :( This week's theme, however, is collaboration. So I wanted to create a platform that let students share their artwork and take inspiration from other's artworks! Meet the Collaboration Hub: collab-hub.vercel.app! It's going to be used next week for people to share their art, and for people to take a look at their art! People can "remix" art which is when they build on top of another person's art work or take inspiration from some art :)) built with next.js and geist-ui again lol... this was my first site using props (i actually built the above one after this but the Arts teachers took a while ahahahaha). also heavily inspired by scrapbook
