@heyrajan0Hack the north was this weekend, which meant it was time to buildโbuild somethingย big.
This all started off as a platform to yell at people. No, seriously. In Global Politics class, we were introduced to the world of politics that we live in, and well, the propaganda and complexity for democracy shocked us. Articles are long, politics are complex, social issues are widespread, and ranting to friends leads to nowhere. We wanted to build a better way to learnโto clear the mist by alleviating false and opinionated facts through a gamified system. And thatโs what Diplomatica is for, bringing the truth to everyone.
The platform is broken down into scraping relevant and desired articles, summarizing them with our AI models, and a decentralized debate platform to spark thought-provoking conversations and to compete with your friends.
A like on devpost, or a star on github, would be greatly appreciatedย :partyparrot:

Wanted a super chill project to work on over the weekend so I made verpi, a program to show the status of your vercel deployments on a small light strip! Alongside a super clean codebase it also has this nifty little python script to compile a binary on the pi without changing your local environment one bit! Below is a quick demo:

@matthewvandyke080I know I haven't posted about BrainDUMP in a few weeks because I have been busy and haven't gotten a chance to program or come up with new ideas. But today I brainstormed and soon new BrainDUMP content/updates will be coming!!
@Sarthak0Finished building the first version of a timer, scorer, and question pdf viewer app for National Science Bowl! Check it out here: nsb-aid.vercel.app.
@avi1made a weebsite for an ap environmental science assignment about droughts! check it out on droughtcards.vercel.app (note: some of the images be fucky)
@matthewvandyke080Just released BrainDUMP's new feature: Account Center. This was something that was on my list to add quickly after release and now it is finally here. Its a basic setup for the account center right now but I will be adding better additions soon! Along with the Account Center the UI has changed to now show your profile icon, next to the light/dark mode switcher, allowing you to go to your account or logout in one spot!
@tejasag0Working on my website's v2!
Heavily inspired by Jacky's website!! ๐
Will be much much more professional than my current one and a secret surprise ๐

@matthewvandyke080๐ Today marks my 300th day of posting to scrapbook and streaks! ๐
Starting during Summer of Making I started posting updates about my work building Students Who Code and sharing updates + holding myself accountable to working on my projects. Through the past 300 days I have shared updates on Students Who Code, myDash, my portfolio + the redesign, BrainDUMP, and so many other things! Thank you to everyone who has followed my streaks and scrapbook ๐
But now that I am on 300 its time to aim to 365...so lets start the countdown!!!! โฐ

@matthewvandyke080new update for BrainDUMP ๐ข
Just finished Brain Blog today and it is now live! Brain Blog will be home to new updates about features for BrainDUMP and will also feature the story collection about how others manage/execute ideas, are productive, and more (stories will be coming out soon...with some from fellow hack clubbers).
@matthewvandyke080Just updated BrainDUMP to support Tag Colors so it is easier for you to differentiate your tags and thoughts. thanks @benjamin for some help with this!
@sarthak0๐ข SHIP INCOMING ๐ข
Today (in about 5-10 minutes actually), I created Anomaly Science's website. Check it out here: anomaly-science.vercel.app! I'm still off this Slack for the next two weeks so don't feel bad if I don't reply. Also, if anybody knows how to fix the B+ on DuckDuckGo, let me know, I think I have to add a special tag but not sure where the documentation on that is. Stay tuned for @nihal's Save the Entire Universe site which I'm expecting to be finished before the 8th.
@skyerocket0I finally transferred my school's hack club website from repl.it to GitHub and it is now being hosted on Vercel! I am still getting everything set up and styled but you can check out what we have so far here: github.com/BetsyZhang10/flhs-hack-club! Lmk if you have any ideas for improvements!
@riley33chou0moved stuff to vercel and made some major updates to citro hacks' website
@everest0Did the Vercel nextjs blog tutorial. Really liking vercel so far, more than any other hosting provider Iโve tried. It feels like if apple made a hosting service and react framework. blog.everestoreizy.vercel.app
@matthewvandyke080Deployed a new project to Vercel and will be shipping it tomorrow hopefully!
@ella0i worked on a small project and deployed to vercel :yay: first time using Next.js
@fayd0had a hectic day switching from gh-pages --> vercel, also idk why but some images won't load in some browsers for some stupid reason which i don't know.
@sampoder0made this little thing for student council, itโs small but im kinda proud of it + work around it
@matthewvandyke080Got the domain for Students Who Code fully transferred over to Vercel today!
@BenjaminSmith0Improved the project pages, switched to using getStaticProps and getStaticPaths for them, and set up Vercel (see a prototype of my website at benjaminsmith.vercel.app, content not final yet)
@sampoder0This Christmas I got aย Jedi Challenges AR Headset from Santaย (thanks Santa!). I really like the game, but I wanted to be able to put custom applications on to it!
So I made Holocron :jediparrot: which is a React component that makes doing so super duper easy. It helps you size the window correctly and position the screen etc. It was my first time making a React component and I found the publishing quite difficult but I worked it out well: www.npmjs.com/package/@sampoder/holocron
I then built a demo app that shows the status of your Vercel deployments on your headset. It uses SWR and react-reveal to make it feel buttery smooth!
I also built one that implements the Slack events component on the Hack Club Website (here) on to it (sadly I ran out of time to put this in the demo vid but there are pics attached!
Here's the GitHub project for the package: github.com/sampoder/holocron.
And here's the demo video which I submitted to MLH's weekly hackathon...... and guess what?? Somehow, I won Best Overall Hardware Hack so I now get a free kit from ironically DigiKey (you still owe me money, no escaping) but my react component won best hardware hack lol!
@sampoder0Tried out coding on my iPad! Was very cool! I built a little microservice to make a print from a github markdown file: printhub.now.sh, itโs so i can markup new workshop bounty submissions in review, which i built a siri shortcut for
@sampoder0I got some next.js stickers and vercel fridge magnets!
@mikaeru0Well, i make a project and it need a storage. Vercel doesn't have one, and i can't access aws because my github pack request haven't granted yet. So, i found out IBM Cloud offer the free one, and i try to learn to use it now. After dive their s3 docs in a hour, my back hurts ๐ข . Well, my laptop is offline and here's the photo of IBM cloud logos on google image
@sampoder0getting back to working on my new website!
